Resume of Mr. Zhan Tao

Mr. Zhan Tao, was born in April, 1963 in Yanzhou, Shandong province. In 1979, he entered Shandong University, majoring Mathematics, and received his B.S, M.S. and Ph.D. successively in the university. Upon his graduation in 1987, he was employed in the Department of Mathematics of Shandong University. From 1991, funded by The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, he was a visiting scientist in Freiburg University for two years. In 1993, he was promoted as professor of Mathematics and the Deputy Dean of the Department of Mathematics of Shandong University. Ever since 1995, he took up office as vice president of Shandong University.

Dr. Zhan Tao has been long engaged in studying on several famous questions in the field of Number Theory, his achievements have drawn much attention and high appreciation of both domestic and overseas fraternities. Because of his academic achievement, he was awarded the title "Chinese Ph.D. with outstanding devotion" by the Degree Committee of The State Council, one of the chosen experts of China's "First Hundred Talents Project" and expert of the "Cross Century Talents Plan" by the Ministry of Education. He became one of the youngest doctorate supervisor in China in 1993. At present, he concurrently takes the offices of standing director of Chinese Mathematics Association, chairman of Shandong Mathematics Association, editor of Mathematics Journal (English Version), standing member of the State Youth Council and standing member of Shandong Provincial Scientific Association, etc.
